Our kids classes are designed to build self-esteem, encourage individuality and foster positive social experiences and skills, ALL while having fun through dance!

DANCE CLASSES WITH A DIFFERENCE

We’re all about creating a fun, supportive space where dancers can express themselves, boost their confidence and make amazing friends!

No pressure and no competition - our classes are all about creativity, positivity, and celebrating what makes you unique!

TERM BY TERM ENROLMENT

Our classes run within Queensland primary school term dates, from Week 1 to Week 9. We structure our classes within the Term to encourage skill, social and personal development!

We do not offer casual classes for kids because we believe consistent attendance is key to gaining the most from our philosophy.

The Term by Term enrolment allows students to enjoy a Term of dancing, while also not locking families into yearly/12 month commitments. You can attend Term by Term, and change your classes each term, depending on what you prefer!

END OF TERM SHOWS

Our classes work towards a performance for our End of Term Show! Performing is optional, but it is a really encouraging and rewarding experience for our Students.

It's a wonderful moment where our students can apply the skills they learnt throughout their classes (self-confidence, kind language, working through worries, teamwork, etc) as they perform on stage!

Our Shows are held in a fantastic venue, where students can perform on stage with stunning stage lighting, high-quality show filming, and a really professional and fun atmosphere!

We pride ourselves on providing AWESOME Show experiences for our students and their families and friends!

MY STUDENT IS QUITE SHY/NERVOUS?

We understand that dancers may take a little while to 'warm up' to a new environment and new faces. We encourage students and families to recognise the value every new experience. There is always something to learn and gain, and students should be so proud of themselves for that!

When you enrol as a New Student you can let us know how your student is feeling about the class, and anything else that you would like us to know.

We take our time to welcome New Students, show them the Studio, and introduce them to our team and other dancers - we believe that feeling warmly welcomed and well informed is really reassuring for New Students!

WHAT ARE THE DANCE STYLES? I'M A BEGINNER?

Hip Hop: Hip Hop has many elements to this expressive style! Our Hip Hop classes are high-energy and all about big moves!

Contemporary: Contemporary is story-telling through dance! It incorporates Jazz/Ballet technique, floorwork, and lots of emotion!

4-6yo Fun Dancing: A combination of Hip Hop, Jazz and overall coordination and musicality for our youngest groovers!

All our classes are suitable for beginners!

WHAT SHOULD MY DANCER WEAR?

Whatever they feel comfortable + confident in! Usually t-shirt, tights, pants and shorts are best but dancers can wear tutus, dresses, etc as well. We don't have a studio uniform for our classes.

Shoes: 4-6yo and Hip Hop Students please need to wear enclosed shoes to class (like sneakers or trainers).

Contemporary Students dance barefoot for their first class, and then need to wear the Contemporary Footwear for the rest of the Term. Dancers cannot wear only socks, as the flooring can become slippery.

WHAT PARKING IS AVAILABLE? WHAT'S ACCESSIBILITY LIKE?

Our Studio is located at 4/32 Middle Street, Cleveland - next to the Little Istanbul Turkish Restaurant. There is street parking available on Middle Street. There is also parking at the back of Middle Street, on Kyling Lane. Please always check the parking signs in the area.

The Studio is located on the ground floor, and there are bathrooms located upstairs in the shared building - an elevator is available if needed.

CAN I WATCH THE CLASS?

Yes! We have a Waiting Room with a Viewing Window into the dance room! Families are welcome to view the class from this window, but not from within the dance room.

FAIR PLAY VOUCHERS?

Unfortunately we are ineligible to accept Fair Play Vouchers.

To be an eligible provider, you must either be a not-for-profit or associated with a State/National Association.

We've tried joining a few different Associations just be registered so that we can become an eligible provider. But being part of the Associations comes with compulsory competition attendance which isn't aligned with LED's values (it's also really expensive for Studios + families to run competition teams!).

It's great to see families provided support, especially encouraging children to play sport, but the current requirements unfortunately exclude a lot of small businesses.

TRIAL CLASSES
The first week of the Term is a chance to trial our classes! Your dancer can attend our classes to see how they enjoy it before the full fees are due. Trial Classes are not held after Week 2 of the Term.

PREFERRED CLASSES

You can attend multiple Trial Classes when you enrol as a New Student!

Each class has a different song/choreography, so we recommend booking in for the class that suits you for the whole term because you can't attend the alternate class as a 'catch up'.

$10 DEPOSIT

New Student Enrolments require a $10 deposit for Trial Classes. The $10 deposit is non-refundable if you do not attend your trial classes, cancel your trial classes or do not continue after your trial class.

If you're keen to continue dancing after your Trial Class, the $10 deposit is taken off your fees for the term.

You can attend multiple Trial Classes for that Term under the one $10 deposit, we don't charge a deposit per class!

NEW STUDENT ENROLMENTS

Bookings for trial classes are essential, we do not accept walk-ins. To book in for a Trial Class you have to submit the New Student Enrolment Form, see below!

WHAT HAPPENS AFTER MY TRIAL CLASS?

After your Trial Class we will check in with you via email! We'd love to hear about how your dancer enjoyed the class, and we'll confirm if you would like to continue for the Term, or if you would like to change/cancel your enrolment.

If you're keen to continue, the Term Fee and the one-off Membership Fee are both due before/at your next class. Payment options include cash, eftpos, or direct bank transfer.

If you'd like to change/cancel your enrolment we'll organise that for you, no hassle! We'll be so grateful for you taking the time to try our classes, and you can be proud of yourself for trying something new!

COSTS

Here is an outline of the expected costs for the Term. This is just an expected outline and is subject to change.

$10 New Student Deposit: All New Student Trial Class Enrolments require a $10 deposit to reserve your space in your preferred classes, as spaces are limited!
$65 Membership Fee: This is a one-off joining Membership Fee. This fee includes the LED Logo Membership T-Shirt, and is only due once when you decide to continue after your trial.
Term Fees: $185 Term Fee for 60 minute classes, $165 Term Fee for 45 minute classes. This covers the classes at the Studio for the Term.

If you would like to join multiple classes for the Term, the Term Fee is charged per class.
Overdue Fees: We really appreciate timely payment of Fees, as this allows our business to continue running! An Overdue Fee will be applied to overdue accounts. Please always contact us if you would like to chat about a possible payment plan!
End of Term Show: There is no cost for students to perform but tickets for audience members to attend (everyone aged 6 and over) are $20 each or 3 tickets for $50.

Students wear their LED Shirt to the Show (included in the Membership Fee) and their own costumes from home in our matching colours of black, white, grey, yellow, silver gold). Additional accessories can be purchased from our Studio or elsewhere!
Contemporary Footwear: We require Contemporary students to wear a particular foot covering to dance in - these are available from Reception for $10, or can be purchased from other dancewear providers.
